Just premiered over at MovieFIX is the trailer Premiere of 'A Few Best Men' word out of the recent Queensland Movie Convention was that the film stole the show and was one of the best received. From the writers and producers who brought us the hilarious 'Death at a Funeral' and from the director of 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' Stephen Elliot comes a film that is touted to be up there with 'Bridesmaids' and 'The Hangover'.

Drift Begins Production in WA

DRIFT has been in pre-production for quite a while now and the buzz surrounding it has been on the up and up since last year but now finally we have confirmation in the form of a shiny press release that the surfing film DRIFT has begun production in the South-West of WA. The film stars Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation), Myles Pollard (Wolverine, McLeods Daughters), Xavier Samuel (Twilight Eclipse, The Loved Ones) and Lesley-Ann Brandt (Memphis Beat, CSI:NY). Well I always love a good period drama and when it comes anything even related to William Shakespeare I'm in. ANONYMOUS starring Rhys Ifans, Vanessa Redgrave, David Thewlis and Australian Xavier Samuel will hit the big screen this October, basically the film is a political thriller about who actually wrote the plays of William Shakespeare, check it out after the jump.

THe LOVED ONES is the new Australian horror film that has hit the screens across the country. The movie is directed with talent and expertise by Sean Byrne. It has a definite Australian feel and strong performances by the leads Xavier Samuel and Robin McLeavy. The story is set in a small Victorian country town. When Brent (Samuel) turns down his classmate Lola's (McLeavy) invitation to the prom, she concocts a wildly violent plan for revenge. To celebrate the release of Aussie scream flick, THE LOVED ONES, director Sean Byrne and lead actress Robin McLeavy will visit Perth for a special Talking Pictures Q&A Screening at Luna Cinemas Leederville, Wednesday 3 November (6.30pm).

Buzz around the film which is being touted “Pretty in Pink meets Wolf Creek” continues to build in Australian and international markets, with the film recently taking the Best International Feature award at Sweeden’s Fantastik Film Festival.

Madman Entertainment presents us with the trailer to the upcoming aussie horror THE LOVED ONES. Starring Xavier Samuel(Twilight Eclipse), Jessica McNamee from TV's Packed to the Rafters and relative new comer Robin McLeavy, theres been some massive buzz around this film, its recently won the Siren Award for Best International Feature at FANTASTIK FILM FESTIVAL in Sweden last week! And has also managed to pick up the audience favourite prize, the Cadillac People’s Choice Award, in the Midnight Madness competition at the Toronto International Film Festival last year.
